I usually try to give these people the dignity of looking them in the eye and saying no to their trash and generally they give me distance. This guy not only refused to rescind the card but actually blocked my path out of the subway. Two days prior I saw him walking to the bus in the rain, looking even more bedraggled so my indignance was overcome by sympathy and a healthy fear of mold.
